Pumpkins and Cavity Lovers

Kai is almost six months old and already has his first two bottom teeth!! He hasn't figured out the crawling world yet but he tries really hard to flap his arms and legs until he gets frustrated after realizing he isn't going anywhere. He is definitely full of energy and loves to smile really big. I have come to love this baby stage!

We have been feeling very festive lately knowing that we are actually in a neighborhood that gets regular trick or treaters for Halloween and snow for Christmas (the things we only read in books and saw on TV growing up.) This weekend we will be going to a pumpkin carving party, the ward trunk or treat activity as well as sitting on our front porch handing out cavity lovers. We love the holidays!

Do you know Jillian Michaels? You should. She is amazing. If you ever want a good work out video, pick her. That's my secret to being skinny. I guess you could also add in the fact that Jarett and I are health freaks...oh...and I have PARASITES. You could blame my skinny jeans on the party that is happening inside me for who knows how long. I'm pretty sure I ate them in Mexico...Taiwan or Hawaii...and you were jealous?! If you're curious the name of the parasite is Entamoeba Histolytica.

Not even my doctor knew exactly what this parasite was until he looked it up. So I am on my ninth day of taking some super strong antibiotics to hopefully kill those little monsters!! On top of all that I had to put Kai on formula (which he did not even know how to eat from a bottle yet) and pump to keep my own milk supply up! It's been a rough 9 days.

On a happier thought, we were able to take part in a murder mystery night with some of our good friends. The theme was Western Saloon (as you could probably guess from the picture below). Jarett was "murdered" that night and we had to figure out who murdered him while staying in character. Jarett was a famous gambler and I was a dangerous outlaw who had robbed the town bank. In case you are wondering, we were drinking root beer.

We are currently in contract to buy a home. I have been on the market for a year now trying to educate myself before we make this huge decision. Just last week a short sale came up for a home that was way under-priced. We made our offer and they accepted! Yeah the home isn't perfect, but it is perfectly priced and it is in good condition. It will do well for us while we are here....that is if the bank accepts our offer (the beauty of short sales).

We might be stupid to make this move when this week, 4 out of 10 guys in Jarett's group at work were laid-off. We believe that everything happens for a reason, and therefore, we continue to enjoy what we have been given.

  1. That halloween outfit is SUPER cute. That is crazy that you have parasites. I decided not to watch the link and just take your word for it. I hope you get better soon. and good luck on the house purchase. Miss you!
