Freedom

Yes! We have been granted freedom for the summer. Our first celebration consisted of hiking up to Laie Falls; a six mile hike through the beautiful country behind our little town. Jarett and I decided before school was out that we were going to dedicate our summer to getting the most out of where we live. In preparation for our adventures we bought some Chaco shoes for both of us!! Yes this was an expensive decision but we are not regretting it. These shoes are amazing!!

Since they are still bran spankin new shoes, by the 5th mile we were taping up our feet to prevent blistering. I've always known that sandals are not meant for hiking, but these sandals are special. We are hoping that this hike will be the only one that we will need to be taping up our feet.

The hike was beautiful! Most of the time we were completely surrounded by greenery. It was like walking through a tunnel with thick walls on both sides. We loved it! When we finally reached the falls it was a little disappointing to see a tiny stream instead of a full on water fall. But...it was an accomplishment and we enjoyed every minute of it. (except of course the blistering feet part).
